Synopsis

America Is Sinking is a low-budget disaster film from The Asylum studio that tries to show a global catastrophe where melting glaciers trigger earthquakes, massive flooding, and tsunamis that threaten to sink North America. The concept sounds exciting on paper, especially for fans of natural disaster movies, but the execution struggles from the very beginning.

The story follows a group of scientists and military officials racing against time to stop the disaster using experimental methods. Unfortunately, the narrative feels rushed and predictable, with very little emotional depth or character development. Most scenes exist mainly to move from one disaster event to another without building real tension.

One of the biggest weaknesses of the film is its visual effects. The CGI looks low-quality and often unrealistic, which reduces the impact of large-scale destruction scenes. Instead of feeling intense or thrilling, many moments come across as artificial and unconvincing.

Acting is another area where the film falls short. The performances feel flat and sometimes robotic, making it difficult to connect with the characters or care about their survival. Even dramatic moments fail to deliver the intended emotional weight.
